Lawn Fertilizing
The fertilization of lawn areas should be performed four (4)
times each year including pre-emergent crabgrass controls, broad-leaf weed controls, balanced slow release fertilizer and
surface insect control.
Fertilizer applications are to be made as recommended to promote
maximum effectiveness based on soil and weather conditions and are to be coordinated with the mowing schedule as required.
A recommended program for lawn fertilization and insect control is described below.
Application 1: Usually applied in late
March or early April when the soil temperature is above 60 degrees so the product can perform. 7-3-22 with slow release
fertilizer with pre-emergent crabgrass control.
Application 2: Usually applied in May,
approximately 4 to 6 weeks after Application 1. Apply 25-10-10 with slow release fertilizer with broadleaf weed control
and ground ivy.
Application 3: Usually applied in early
to mid July. Apply a slow release fertilizer (19-4-6) with surface insect control.
Application 4: Usually applied in late
Fall. Use 8-4-24 or similar, and apply weed control as needed or required.

remove branches that obstruct walks or roadways, and eliminate suckers or water sprouts. Any trees that cannot be reached
by a gardener using a 4 foot orchard ladder are not covered in this proposal.
Tree pruning shall be performed 2 times per year as recommended
by a Horticulturist. The pruning times are usually scheduled during Spring cleanup and again in early Summer.

Shrub Trimming &
Pruning
Shrub trimming and pruning is to be performed by a highly trained
individual who, through related training and on-the-job experience, is familiar with techniques and hazards of this work.
All shrubs (including Deciduous, Evergreen and Flowering) will
be pruned at the proper time of the year. Renewal, heading back and rejuvenation are the methods of pruning that will
be used to accomplish the removal of dead, diseased, injured and non-productive wood. This is done annually and assists
plants in maintaining their natural size, shape and configuration.
All formal hedgerows shall be sheared to maintain a tight formal
appearance. Hedges will be sheared slightly narrower at the top to encourage growth of the foliage. Shrub trimming
shall be performed two times per year at the recommendation of a Horticulturist and usually takes place in late Spring and
late Summer.
All shrub pruning and shrub trimming debris shall be picked
up and completely removed from the premises by the maintenance crew.
